How To Join |
|

What
is the first step?
The first step in joining Florence Baptist
Church is to speak to a pastor or counselor at
the conclusion of a worship service or at
anytime that you arrange to do so. Most often,
this opportunity is given publicly at the close
of each worship service. It will take a few
minutes after a worship service to get the
necessary information to begin the membership
process.
How do I join?
Joining Florence Baptist Church may be done
several ways:
1. By professing faith in Jesus Christ and
following in believers’ baptism by immersion.
2. By transferring your “letter” or records from
another Southern Baptist Church.
3. By your statement of faith in Christ and that
you have been baptized by immersion after
salvation.
4. By baptism, stating your faith in Christ from
another denomination that does not practice
baptism by immersion and your willingness to
have baptism by immersion.
What about my children?
Children receive special treatment! When
children feel they understand what it means to
profess faith in Christ, they may respond in the
same way the adults do. Then you will be
instructed on the next step, depending on the
child’s age, experience and need. Children in
grades 1-5 are required to attend the Children’s
New Members course prior to baptism. An
appointment with Peggy McCoy may be desired.

Still have questions?
That’s not unusual. The counselors provided at
the end of the worship hours will answer any
questions you may have. Or, if you prefer, feel
free to call the church office during the week
for an appointment with a pastor, 859-371-7141.
